Established in 1865 as the Flue & Fire Committee with four inaugural members, Sparta Fire Department has grown and adapted to serve the community of Sparta and its surrounding area.
Today, Sparta Fire Department consists of thirty firefighters and officers, but despite the changes in times, the changes in technology and the changes in personnel we stay committed to the preservation of life and property. As our motto has been since the beginning: Because We Care.
