FIRE EDUCATION

The United States Fire Administration has stated that since 2022, the death risk of children ages 14 and under is 60-70% less than that of the general population.  Lower risk may be attributed, in part, to an increase in public fire education and prevention efforts by fire departments and other fire safety organizations.

We at Sparta Fire Department are proud to contribute to this safety trend through our regular meetings with youth groups, schools, churches and other community organizations.  Through these meetings we not only discuss safety around us and our apparatus when we’re nearby, but more importantly on important fire safety lessons including (but not limited to):  what to do when smoke detectors sound, having a family escape plan, what to do in an emergency and how to contact emergency services.
